As ADF, we work toward securing a generation of empowered young people (including orphaned and vulnerable children). We envision a world where all children have a chance to secure a brighter future for themselves and their community through individual capabilities and the collective capacity (through education) and are able act independently and take meaningful control of their own development. 

While our work primarily focuses on provision of learning opportunities, resources and materials that facilitate education, we also are cognizant of how education is one of the many challenges that underprivileged children in our society face. This holiday season we are conducting a fundraising drive to raise resources that will fund projects aimed at alleviating poverty in the communities we work in. We will also collect clothes, food stuff and other items to share with underprivileged children at our partner children's homes. Poverty is associated with lower levels of academic achievement and educational attainment for children. This is because the experience of poverty poses many challenges for children. For example, children from low-income families may not be able to concentrate because of hunger or may be victimized by bullies. We are calling on to well-wishers to support our Christmas fundraising drive as we aim to share hope with underprivileged children this holiday season.
